The Top 10 Tourist Destinations in Asia

Chiang Mai, Thailand - Many travelers prefer Thailand's pleasant northern capital over the hectic pace of life in Bangkok. Most of the tourist action happens within Chiang Mai's Old City, where orange-robed monks from the many temples smile as they pass. From cultural festivals and sprawling night markets to mountain trekking and numerous temples -  Chiang Mai attracts over a million visitors annually who can't wait to come back.

Penang, Malaysia - Known as the "Pearl of the Orient," Penang is a place to relax, eat to the brink of misery, and appreciate Malaysia in a new way. Malaysians are quite proud of their large island. A legacy of colonization in Penang has produced what is arguably some of the best cuisine in all of Southeast Asia. Penang hawker food combines the best of Malay with influences from Chinese and Indian immigrants to produce mouthwatering creations such as laksa noodles. Superb eating is not the only indulgence on the island. Home to nesting sea turtles, the Penang National Park is Malaysia's youngest national park.

Singapore - Notoriously expensive and needlessly shunned by budget travelers, tiny Singapore is a modern-yet-green city/country well worth a visit for the food, mega-mall shopping, and unique blend of cultures. Yes, Singapore costs far more than neighboring Malaysia or the rest of Southeast Asia, however, the city has a pleasant vibe, lively Indian and Chinese culture, speaks good English, and is pleasant enough just to stroll. You could spend months living in Singapore and still discover hidden                                                                                       places and eateries the guidebooks have missed!

Malaysian Borneo - Sabah, one of two states belonging to Malaysian Borneo, is a natural paradise. Plentiful rainforest, endangered orangutans, and indigenous cultures are certainly worth grabbing a cheap flight from Kuala Lumpur. Sabah is the perfect balance between wild and developed. Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah, is a happening tourist city in the shadow of towering Mount Kinabalu.

Islands in Thailand - Some too small to merit a dot on a map, the islands in Thailand are among the world's most beautiful. Imagine white sand and blue water, cheap diving, and your choice of isolated tranquility or savage nightlife. The diversity of the Thai islands is amazing. Phuket and Koh Samui are developed, tourist hot spots with vibrant nightlife, while tiny Koh Lipe barely maintains electricity. Beautiful Koh Lanta is the perfect compromise.

Siem Reap - is the gateway for exploring one of Southeast Asia's most fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Angkor Wat. Over 900 years old, the temples of Angkor are scattered across 600 square miles of jungle. The jungle is slowly reclaiming the ancient temples as vines strangle ruins and break apart bricks. The picturesque Angkor temples frequently serve as movie sets and bring to life the inner-archaeologist in over one million visitors each year.

Beijing, China - Crowded, polluted, dreadfully appealing - love it or hate it, Beijing is the pounding heart of China. Amazing UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City make navigating Beijing's urban sprawl well worth the effort. Give Beijing a chance; rather than fleeing from the madness, stick around long enough to become a part of it. Wandering the busy streets can actually become quite addictive.

Bali, Indonesia - Bali, with its miles of beaches and volcanic landscapes, is nothing short of magic. Once only a destination for honeymooners and surfers, Bali is now one of the top destinations in Asia. Most of the action culminates in South Bali at hedonistic Kuta Beach. Travelers in search of more than a hangover head for Ubud - the peaceful cultural center of Bali - or even opt to climb a volcano in the Kintamani Region. Excellent beaches, a welcoming Hindu culture, and beautiful scenery make Bali the busiest island in Indonesia.

Tokyo, Japan - Perhaps not the cheapest of places to visit in Asia, bustling Tokyo is the world's largest metropolitan economy, even exceeding New York City. Urban marvels, talking toilets, and an aloof culture begging to be understood await as soon as you exit the airport.

Goa, India - Goa is India's smallest and wealthiest state, mostly thanks to abundant tourism. Once mainly a haven for hippie culture and electronic music lovers, Goa has grown into a sophisticated destination. Today, many excellent beaches ranging from highly developed to relatively untouched lure travelers away from hectic Mumbai and Delhi.

Singapore at night...

Singapore at night is especially beautiful.

Becomes cooler and less humid ...

Switched a beautiful night lights ...

And start another life ... night life...

One of the tallest buildings in Singapore. Upstairs disco and restaurant. Many people go there just to climb the observation deck.

How to schedule hundreds of residents out for an evening jog. A healthy lifestyle. Very few people smoke (strict laws and high prices for cigarettes) and a lot of sports.

The simbol of Singapore - Merlion.

Behind the big Merlion - a small Merlion

Kamakura

Kamakura  is a city located in  Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, about 50 kilometres  south-south-west of Tokyo. It used to be also called Renpu.

Kamakura has many historically significant Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines, some of them, like Sugimoto-dera, over 1,200 years old. Kotoku-in with its monumental outdoor bronze statue of Amida Buddha, is the most famous. A 15th century tsunami destroyed the temple that once housed the Great Buddha, but the statue survived and has remained outdoors ever since.

Angkor, Cambodia

The temple complex of Angkor in Cambodia is an architectural masterpiece. It was built in the jungle at the beginning of the XII century, then, two centuries later, by some mysterious circumstances was abandoned by the Khmers (previously it was their the capital).

Cambodia - The Angkor temple complex

Soon the jungle swallowed Angkor, concealing it for several centuries under the dense thickets of the rainforest. The only thing that could not hide the forest, was stony ledge built which was accidentally discovered in 1861 by the French naturalist. Soon archaeologists have revealed the world a magnificent Angkor. Today, visitors are stunned by the architectural decoration and excellent stone carving. Most striking to note exquisite female figures ("apsaras"), located around Angkor.

The temple complex of Angkor is the only facility built man in the past and that the size is equal to the square of Paris. This whole "town" is called Angkor. The main building of the temple complex:

Phnom - looking at it one can tell what a destructive force have jungle. The roots of a banyan tree entangle him like a giant octopus. Banteay Srey - is a tiny "diamond" of Angkor. Sculptures of Banteay are delicious. Angkor Tom - occupies a vast territory and should be much larger than its neighbor, the temple complex of Angkor. But its construction is not as well preserved. This place is more interesting to archaeologists than for the tourists.

The whole Asia is collected in Singapore...

First of all, Singapore - is a country which peacefully coexist several Asian cultures. And secondly, here is a perfectly combined seemingly incongruous things: the exotic nature, stunning architecture, technical progress and profitable shopping.

Today, Singapore has no external debt, the unemployment rate is only 2%, per capita income constitutes $ 30 thousand per year (U.S. dollars, however, Singapore, reaching the rate of 2:1 to the U.S.).

The level of technical equipment of the population can be assessed even in the street. Here goes a flock of three years old tots, each with their own " mobile phone ". Multicolored phones are made in the form of dolphines, elephants, parrots. On the phone are 4 photos: mother, father, grandfather, grandmother. To connect with someone of them it is enough to poke a finger in the desired image.

And to catch a taxi you hane to go to the set on the sidewalk placard with a map of the city. Looking for a place where you are, press a button, and in three minutes a white taxi car comes to take you.

Once Singapore was the kingdom of brothels, opium smoking and gambling houses. Today, the struggle for high moral principles has led to the prohibition of such innocent things as striptease, casino or magazine "Playboy". For the sale of opium one may be pleasing to prison for 30 years, and from gambling are encouraged only racing and ma-chzhong - the ancient puzzle with a shifting blocks.

Favorite Singaporean fun - a trip Sentosa Island. Previously it was called "Pulau blakang mother," which means "Dead Man's Backyard." Sea pirates buried their victims here. Today Sentosa is a West Disneyland.

But the main pride of Singaporeans -is the zoo, one of the best in the world. Animals here feel like at home, that is, as in the wild. It seems that the visitors themselves are in cages, and monkeys and buffalo, pythons, elephants, and giraffes are watched fro them. The unique spectacle offered by the Zoo -is Night Safari, allowing to observe the life of wild animals in their natural habitat. As you know, they go out to hunt only at night. When walking on a special tram, you can even see a leopard hunting for an antelope.

The whole Asia is collected in Singapore, and despite differences, the neighboring cultures are not selfclosed. All is intertconnected. On the territory of China Town is a sanctuary of admirers of Hinduism, and in "Little India" - Chinese Buddhist temples.

Malaysia is amazing...

In this country to see a wild monkey is as easy as in Russia - a crow. But in Kuala Lumpur are built the highest skyscrapers in the world. Here is a monarchy. And the King is elected for 5 years. Here, for serious crimes, there is the practice of corporal punishment. But while the capital is considered one of the safest cities in the world. Even the flag of Malaysia is amazing. Exactly, as in the U.S., but instead of white stars  - Arab crescent.

Malaysia is like a butterfly, fluttering on the boundary of the Pacific and Indian oceans. Increased its "wing" located on the island of Borneo (Kalimantan), the capital and surrounding states - to the Malay Peninsula, south of Thailand. And all around - "splash" of different-sized islands.
Gemini-Gulliver.

Symbol of the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur - the famous twin towers of the Petronas Twin Towers, their "growth" is 452 meters. City can be admired from the bridge between them at the 40 th floor. Even better view - from the restaurant's television tower. In height it is only at the 4 th place in the world, but the observation deck is located on the 450-meter mark, higher than that of a "lanky" Overseas television towers.

Near the skyscrapers of glass and concrete you can see a Chinese temple or, for example, in lush oriental restaurant. There are orchids in the park and the park butterflies. In the giant shopping malls electronics at least 20 % cheaper than in Moscow. And around palm trees, palm trees, palm trees

Islands in Malaysia, many hundreds, and each is remarkable in its own way. Sipadan - a paradise for divers, to Penang you can visit the temple of snakes and windsurfing, in Borneo (and only there!) To meet the long-nosed monkeys, make an exciting excursion into the jungle, Langkawi is famous for white sandy beaches, aquarium, marine parks, crocodile farm. The main problem - got into this paradise, do not lose your head and not do something silly.

* For inhabitants of the CIS visa in Malaysia is not required.
* The currency of Malaysia - rings. 1 $ = 3,5 R.

Citizens of the country - are chaste people, yet the official religion of Malaysia - is Islam. But fans of "strawberry" may find himself adventures here. Adult services are mainly in the sauna - massage parlors. In Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Bintang in the street you have to offer for 30 dollars girls from Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh voluptuaries should be aware that local feel confused his professional duty to be satisfied as soon bring a man to orgasm. Even if this happens in a minute - to keep a girl or claim back money paid for one "hour" is useless.

Put your left hands in the pants...
Malaysian's left hand is considered to be"unclean". So something to pass or show a man with his left hand is very incorrect.

It's an extremely diverse country, with vast differences in geo graphy, climate, culture, language and ethnicity across its expanse, and prides itself on being the largest democracy on Earth.

 The Biggest India Cities

Delhi — the capital of India for a thousand years and the heart of Northern India.
Bangalore (now Bengaluru) — The garden city, once the sleepy home of pensioners now transformed into the city of pubs, technology and companies.
Chennai (formerly Madras) — main port in Southern India, cradle of Carnatic Music and Bharatanatyam, home of the famous Marina beach, Automobile Capital of India and a fast emerging IT hub.

Jaipur — the Pink City is a major exhibit of the Hindu Rajput culture of medeival Northern India.

Kochi (Kerala) (formerly Cochin) — Historically, a centre of international trade, now the gateway to the sandy beaches and backwaters of Kerala.

Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) — the cultural capital of India, Kolkata is home to numerous colonial buildings. It is known as The City of Joy.
Mumbai (formerly Bombay) — the financial capital of India, "Bollywood" (Indian Film Industry) hub.
Shimla — the former summer capital of British India located in the Himalayan foothills with a large legacy of Victorian architecture.
Varanasi — considered the most sacred Hindu city, located on the banks of the Ganges, one of the oldest continually inhabited cities of the world.

Delhi is said to be one of the oldest existing cities in the world, along with Damascus and Varanasi. Legend estimates it to be over 5,000 years old. Over the millennia, Delhi is said to have been built and destroyed 11 times. The oldest alleged incarnation of the city shows up in the Indian mythological epic Mahabharata as Indraprastha. The earliest historically recognized version of the city is
Delhi is the best tourist place in india. For many travellers, the first experiences in Delhi set the tone for their judgement of the city. Delhi is best known for tourist place as well as historical place.

Located on the banks of river Yamuna, Delhi consists of New Delhi (the national capital) and Old Delhi. It is home to over 15 million of people and India’s third largest city after Kolkata and Mumbai .

New Delhi was built by the British and that is reflected in its architecture. All roads in New Delhi lead to the India Gate which is a memorial to the unknown soldiers who lost their lives in World War I. Towards and along Janpath, you’ll see the international and 5star hotels, impressive buildings built to house the governmental departments, the foreign embassies and museums such as the famous National Museum and the Nehru Museum and also famous for the place Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah. New Delhi is also the place where the new big international businesses are concentrated and extended spacious residential areas are located as contrasted with the swarming life in Old Delhi.
Old Delhi is over 2500 years old and was the captial city of the Mughal empire. It is dominated by the grand bazaar of Chandni Chowk and by the Jama Masjid which is the largest mosque in India. You will be impressed by the stillness of this place as soon as you leave the ant-hill of narrow streets, vendor stalls and rickshaws and carriages fighting for a place on the road behind. It offers some excellent views of the city as well. Another popular sight is the Old Red Fort that dominates the horizon with its minarets. Although it is in a rather neglected state, it still is an excellent place to wander around and breath in the atmosphere of the old emperor’s days.

Delhi being the primary hub, India is gradually becoming a chosen destination for many travellers. Besides Delhi, Mumbai often forms the hub of most of these travels and perhaps will be in your case as well. Whatever your landing point in India might be, wherever you might want to travel, delhigate.com remains your only online query resource service for India.
